The Computer Assisted Policy Service (CAPS) converts a school board's policy manual to a computer format for quick and easy searching of board policy and related information. CAPS offers the enhanced capability of searching the policy manual, statutes, Bulletins, and minutes at one time, or the option of searching one category of documents at a time.  A word search provides the user immediate results, listing all files which contain the term, with instances of the term highlighted in the open document.  Highlighted search results can now be included for PDF files, and the program will automatically populate the search results.  The program includes color coded links to statutes, numerous BESE bulletins, and federal statutes and regulations. We have also included links to select forms Boards are required to utilize, such as State-mandated discipline reports and forms for reporting Workers’ Compensation accidents.  Some school systems include their administrative regulations and procedures, and links to internal documentation in the CAPS program as well.

CAPS can be added to a School Board's website to provide access to a searchable online copy of the policy manual or other documents as desired. We will update the documents as needed to maintain the currency of the manual for an additional yearly fee. Costs vary for CAPS, depending on the size and format of the current manual and optional inclusion of Board minutes or other documents.
